Would This Be a Unique Topic for College Essay?

Although I am only a sophomore in high school I already started thinking about a topic for my personal college essay.

Here it is:

I have a rare skin condition called Ichthyosis Vulgaris. It’s all over my legs and I have had it for forever - it took a great toll on my self esteem all thoughout school and my life. This condition makes me HATE wearing shorts (i only wear them at home) and skirts/dresses. This condition is the reason why I am so interested in the human body. When I was little I would always pick at my legs and “perform surgery” on them and try to get the scales off. As I got older, my skin condition grew my confidence in myself (still working on it!) and my interest in medicine.

I was wondering if this topic would be too cliche - feedback would be wonderful! <3

In general the topic is much less important than how well the essay is written. However, it is way too early to think about college essays. Hopefully between now and the start of your senior year you will grow as a person, have new experiences, develop an increased level of maturity etc.

this is an alright topic but i concur with happy1 also do not add in the “performing surgery” part because it just sounds like skin mutilation
