Would this legacy help me?

I'm planning on apply to Michigan next year when I'm a senior (probably early). My dad went to Michigan for Grad. School (after winning the most prestigeous scholarship at the time), and later worked as an admissions officer there for a few years back in the 80's. Does this help my chances at all if I'm already a fairly strong candidate?

It helps, but very little. It will be considered and, assuming you are a strong candidate, could tip things to your favor ever so slightly.
