Would withdrawing from a course right now affect my chances of admission once I'm admitted?

Hey guys, hope your semester/quarter is going well.

Right now I’m taking four classes and the one I’m having trouble with is Differential equations.

Unfortunately I’m not doing so well in that class because I’m also taking Linear algebra, Java, and discrete math. And those classes takes up a lot of time of studying.

My major is mathematics for education/teaching, and a lot of the UCs require differential equations as a pre-req so I’m worried that if I withdraw from the course my decision may be affected once it comes out.

Right now I have a F in the course because I failed the exam and the Maple project given in that course. In other courses I’m doing pretty well because I spent a lot of time on other classes.

Would appreciate some feedback, thank you.

Having a withdrawal on your transcript isn’t great but it’s better than an F. You should ask admissions if it’ll affect your chances.

If it’s req it could be a factor. Definitely withdraw (better than an F) and alert the UCs right away that you have a W and plan to retake in summer. Again, if it’s a required course (not recommended) it could put you in jeooardy. But they like to know as soon as possible. Waiting to tell them has a worse outcome.
