I took that SAT II Subject Tests for the first time in June. I didn't really prepare, and it was my first time taking any kind of SAT (didn't take the reasoning test either).

So anyway, being new to the whole SAT spectrum, I listed four colleges to send free score reports to. Anyway, I got my scores back and two were decent (one 700 and one 750) but I got a 640 on Literature. I didn't really sweat it because I planned on retaking all three tests again in October.

Well now it is just before the deadline, and I really don't see myself taking the tests again. I have plenty to worry about with school and college apps. Should I even bother retaking the Lit test? Out of the 4 schools I sent my scores to, three are still on my list: Cornell, Johns Hopkins, and Duke. Although, by the time all is said and done, I may only apply to Duke out of those three.

I just want to note that I have taken and plan to send the ACT w/ Writing to these schools. I also hope to take the ACT w/ Writing again in October. My main concern is that the 640 will put me in a hole, even though my ACT w/ Writing scores (which I think can be sent instead of SAT IIs) are pretty high.

So anyway, if my other scores are fine, will that 640 really make a difference for Duke and the other schools listed?
