Would you consider this an EC?

<p>umm so i didnt know where to ask this, so i put it here since its pretty active and i want to go to MIT.</p>

<p>so im in a school orchestra class (its a credit class with a grade), and i have like 3 hr school practices every week during school.</p>

<p>however, we also have after school practices (non-credit, no grade) and also ensemble groups that probably last for about 2 hr/wk (and compete in state competitions)</p>

<p>so can i put this as an EC even though the actual class is part of the school.</p>

<p>if i am allowed to, what do i put for the hours? do i put all 5 hr/week (including school) or just the non-school hours (2hr/wk).</p>

<p>and this also includes other school classes that might count as ECs such as band, newspaper, yearbook...</p>

<p>Yes, I wou;d put it as an EC if you spend time out of school.</p>

<p>Only put the number of hours you spend out of class on it though.</p>

<p>an extracurricular activity is anything you do outside of school.</p>
