Such heroism at the age of 13. That must have taken a lot of courage.
Think about your life, all the good things in it, your future, all the things that you're looking forward to. We have work our hardest throughout the school years to go to a great college, have a great job, make a lot of money, etc. All the blood and tears we shed throughout high school; sleep-deprivation, anxiety, nervousness...Would you give up your life, your efforts, your future, your everything to save your loved one? Especially dying in the most unwanted way with fear?

It would be really hard to do the same. I love my siblings and my family. I think if you ask that boy, Jordan, last week "Would you give up your life for your brother?" Like me, he'll probably hesitate a bit, but family love prevails. He put his brother above his life at the last moment.

You're our hero, Jordan. A symbol of all that is human goodness in this false society of number and self-interest.

What do you think? Would you have done the same? Be honest here.

EDIT: In the 3rd article, there is also a story of 2 parents who died saving their 2 children.

Would you give your life for a complete stranger?

I think about this a lot and I believe that I would. Maybe it’s because I see so much innocence and success in my siblings, that I don’t see in myself. I do really hope that if the time ever came, I would have the courage that Jordan did to go through with it.

I asked if you would sacrifice your life for a family member / loved one. NOT a complete stranger. LOL. No I wouldn’t do that.

@MrNewVegas
Yeah, I agree with you. I hope I would never have to be in that position.

I read what you asked.

I wouldn’t. My family’s spent about eighteen years pouring money and time and energy into me, in hopes that I might do something better than what they did. Would be selfish to waste that.

If it was either me or my family. I would want to save the people I love.

yes. in a heartbeat

Yes, I would.

I would not. To be honest I’m just not that selfless.

I would give my life in any instance where the guilt of staying alive would be too burdensome; so yes, for my immediate family, I imagine I would.

I would give my life up in an instance for a family member or even a good friend.
If the complete stranger was a baby/child or someone that is good, I would even give mine up so they can live. Of course, if the said person was a murderer or something, I wouldn’t.
