Wow i really do write bad essays :(

<p>I don't really even know where to go from here. I took a test and wrote my third essay with a 25 minute cut off and honestly I don't know how you guys write these brilliant essays in so short a time! I can barely get my thoughts out and no way have enough time to substitute some vocabulary words in it. </p>

<p>Anyone have any suggestions? This is the essay I just wrote... I honestly am finding this the hardest part of the SAT. I am not aiming for a 2400.. more like a 2000 but ummm... this essay is gonna kill me.</p>

<p>Essay Question: do people accomplish more when they are allowed to do things in their own way?</p>

<p>Author Emily Hunter once said, "The key to success can be found when you embrace your uniqueness." There is no straight or set path to success. Success can be found in a multitude of ways, but the best way to accomplish anything is to do it in one's own way. This theory is evident when looking at history and literature.
At the age of 18 Mary Shelley wrote her first novel. This novel is named Frankenstein. Frankenstein was the first science fiction novel that was ever written, and although the book did not have any conclusive science facts the book was a large success. Frankenstein was the prototype of a now very successful genre of fiction called science fiction. Mary Shelley could have played it safe and written an average fiction novel that was the norm in her time but she decided to write a novel her own way. Not only did Mary Shelley accomplish success with her book but she also created a new genre of fiction that is now prevalent all over the world.
Apple founder, Steve Jobs, is another great example of the importance of doing things in one's own way. Steve Jobs was a problem child in school. He seemed to lack interest in school work and did not pay attention in his classes. When he finished school he chose to follow his mothers wishes and go to college. He was again found in the situation of being bored and uninterested. He decided to do things his own way and left school. He had an interest in electronics and eventually came up with Apple computers. He also created Pixar which is a computer system that allows a user to create computer generated cartoons. Apple is one of the most successful companies today and this is because Steve Jobs trusted his instincts and was able to achieve his goals using his own path.
In the book The Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby was not affluent and amongst the right crowd for Daisy, the woman Jay was in love with, so he set out to become rich. Although he chose to reach success by participating in illegal activities he was able to achieve his riches. He was now among the affluent gentlemen and of the same class as Daisy's husband Tom, in fact, he was was even more rich than Tom.
It is evident in literature and history, through the story's of Mary Shelley, Jay Gatsby and Steve Jobs, that the best way to achieve something is to do it in ones own way.</p>

<p>I find it really awkward to use 'one does this, one does that' ... can i just say when "you can do things your own way" and just change all the ones in the essay to "you"</p>
