I was just reading one of the more recent college manuels by The Princeton Review and it said that Stanford has a 57% acceptance rate!!! It also went on to say that only 39% of their incoming freshman were in the top 10% of their HS class and that the average accepted SAT score is around an 1800! I'm sorry, but I was under the impression that Stanford was much more selective than this, is it true?

you are funny. Flame?

I have no idea where that came from but it's pretty much completely false. Go to the Standford website and see.

I find it extremely hard to believe that you read this in The Princeton Review...

Troll? It is his first post. ;)

I know, i thought the same thing when I saw it, I have no idea where that would come from

maybe he's talking about the other Stanford...the one on the moon..

Stamford maybe?

but he's gonna apply for sure.......ED.

If it helps at all, I don't believe a word of it I'm just directing what I saw, I very well is probably a different university that maybe I had it confused with

hey that bike pedals backwards huh?

I have read this too, I think it was a misprint in "The best 361 colleges" 2005 edition if I recall correctly.

its a typo, i have the book. You can find the real stats on collegeboard. I think their real acceptance rate is like 11%.

thank you, I swore that I read it correctly, I thought hell would freeze over before Stanford became that open
