I have a question. My family and I are flying to West Point for orientation, and overnight staying at end of March, and would WP cover our flying and hotel expense?

Are you coming for orientation or a campus visit? Was not aware that WP held orientations.
I have not heard of WP paying for any flying expense other than blue chip athletic recruits. Even then, the family is not included in that. You will likely stay in the baracks with a cadet or two and your parents will be on their own.

What Mom3boys said...you must be confusing the package West Point offers for R-Day. Your travel expense to the academy will be taken care of when you report. You will be reimbursed for your expense, either airline ticket (at government rate, I'm sure) or so many cents per mile (again, whatever the government rate is) if you choose to drive. I believe you will be reimbursed for one night's lodging for the night prior to reporting, but only for one person, you, for one night and they won't pay for a 5-star hotel. There is a travel package offered to candidates traveling alone where you will fly in and be housed overnight with another candidate. Check the information in your candidate kit; it is explained there.

If you are going up for an overnight visit you will not be reimbursed for anything and you will pay a nominal fee for the meals you will eat there. I don't remember how much it was, but there was a small charge. Your parents will need to find their own lodging for that night at their own expense.

I believe the meal expense for the visit is just under $20.00. The parents are on their own for meals and lodging for a candidate visit.

ooo i got ya. Yeah I was talking about the overnight visit. I was a little confused. Thanks for answering my question.
