WPI vs Penn State main campus

I got accepted into both schools, but haven’t made my mind I most probably want to study some sort of engineering (systems, production or maybe something else) but I got accepted undecided to penn and into international studies at wpi (counselor recommended it), I wonder how hard it would be to switch majors at wpi

wpi pros: excellent engineering school, near boston (one of my favorite cities)
cons: only 30% women so it would be a wiener fest, tuition is about 15k more than penn per year

Penn pros: WAY cheaper, The undecided program would help me find exactly what im looking for, plus no switching majors, around 8 friends got accepted and being from Venezuela the company would be great away from home
cons: its in the middle of nowhere, might get distracted since it’s a party school, engineering program probably not as strong as wpi

For what it’s worth, PSU is ranked higher than WPI here, #48 vs 68: http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/data

Anyway I wouldn’t knock its engineering program, it’s highly regarded. Good luck with your decision!

bodangles you’re right, it actually has a higher engineering rank than wpi acording to us news it’s like 18 vs 45 … guess it’s a no brainer
