Ok so what's up with Writing 39 B? I just found out about them having themes. What exactly does this mean? Are all the books we read and essays we write going to revolve around the theme? And anyone have any good or bad experiences with their writing class theme?

I’m not too thrilled about my theme. Empire doesn’t seem as interesting as fantasy and fairy tale.

That’s precisely what it means. The same goes for writing 39c. When I took the classes, it was all luck of the draw, there was no way to tell beforehand what the themes or who the teachers were (writing class was taught by many different people that were managed by the person that was listed on websoc or something to that effect). It’s hard to write on something you don’t like but you just have to stick it through.

So my class most likely wont be full of people who picked this theme? At least that will make it better!

Picking a theme? When was this?! =/

they’ve always had themes…there’s a website for them

YAAA Conspiracy Theory FTW haha

<a href=“EEE+ Home | UCI”>EEE+ Home | UCI;

The list with all the instructors and themes

Hm, well the teacher on that list is different from the teacher I have on my ZotPortal. I hope it’s a different theme then too, I hate the theme I have on that website: Manufacturing Culture from Nature
Blegh.

Make sure you like the theme, otherwise you’ll have a hard time writing your big paper. 39B was the only class I enjoyed taking. To give you guys a heads up, 39B is almost like AP english except that you’ll be dealing with the connection with audience and a certain media (such as book, magazine, movie, show your proffessors might give you). Good luck.

^but all classes are full…not sure if we can change now.
mines con-artistry. lol kinda strange…anyone have this before?

^ con artistry is like con-men and stuff? i had the theme “confidence” for writing 39b, and it was cool. really depends on your teacher (i had Seybold, he’s so chill!), and my group used an episode of Chuck (the tv show) for an assignment…overall the class was fun, but like i said…depends on who your professor is! :P

I have “Catastrophe, Chaos, and You” with Rebecca Gray. Did anyone take this before?

LA Street Culture! Sounds fun. Is Lisa Douglass a new instructor? I couldn’t find her on Rate My Professors. :(
