Writing a personal letter to college?

I transferred from terrible high school (near the city- sent only one student to Ivy-Harvard) to an excellent school (more academically rigorous, much more competitive, has a great history of students going to top colleges). Without taking any honors or AP courses before, I academically challenged myself by filling up my schedule with most rigorous courses. My grades dropped dramatically to many Bs and some As, nothing below B. However, I still persevered throughout the year and learned to become a better student; I even got exceptional scores on AP exams, though they aren't weighed in admission. Unfortunately, my transcript still shows mostly Bs in my junior year. As a senior, my schedule is more rigorous than last year's. I am improving dramatically in classes; as a matter of fact, I got a report card recently with straight As, and I am thinking of sending it to college to prove that I am still improving academically. Is it worth it to write a personal letter and send my report card to college? Btw, I am applying early action to Yale if you are wondering. And I am going to send a supplementary recommendation and a supplementary essay about something they should know about me. I don't want to overwhelm the admission officer with too many forms and papers and essays. What do you think?

if the explanation is there on the other part of the application ( preferably the recommendation letters or counselor report ) u shud not send it twice as a personal request.

However the best i wud say is to mention all u want in the additonal information column with terse wordings without using any letters and personal comments.

That way it remains very short and the admission officer doesnt have to look at multiple sheets of paper and get distracted......

your GC or a tecaher could mention about that. :)
