<p>So one of Stanford's supplemental essays asks for what is important to me, and the first thing that pops into mind is my family. Judging from my peers and their relationships, I would say that my relationship with my family is definitely closer than theirs for a variety of reasons, but I'm not sure if this is a good idea. Another option would be to write about my scientific research if writing about my family doesn't work out.</p>
<p>Last year my son wrote about his family…it was funny and interesting. He was accepted into numerous top 10 schools. Don’t worry about the subject; write from your heart and let them hear your voice.</p>
