I'm asking about these during the summer because I don't want to miss any when competition season rolls round. I'm looking for all possible writing competitions--only ones I know about are Scholastic and Ayn Rand. Please, any and all competitions, let me know.

This has been on another thread, but some you can do are like the [url=http://www.usip.org/ed/npec/]National Peace Essay Contest: U.S. Institute of Peace/url
And there's one on JFK, and etc...quick google searches should do.

Keep in mind that lots of them are very selective and most require a lot of research/time to write a half-decent essay and it's hard to win, so...I suggest you pick like 2~3 writing competitions to enter that you think you have good chances or you like the topic and stuff.

Also Ayn Rand is always decent...

NCTE - though its restricted to high school juniors and must be nominated through teachers.

And I always hear about the corruption of Ayn Rand's contest - english profs writing for their kids and such. For some reason I don't hear about it for other contests.

Cogito lists all sorts of competitions including some writing and essay contests.

Thanks for that link. =)

Are you interested in creative writing, essays, or journalism?

You could do either Scholastic or Ayn Rand. Those are the two I know.
