Hello all,

I'm heading into my junior year of high school and I'm looking to enter some writing competitions: poetry, essays, and short story contests are all fair game. I think it would be really fun to write at the competitive level and work on my skills, and it will probably impress some of the schools I'm applying to (which traditionally only see left-brain thinkers)

Thank you!

bump please help :/

Does your school do the PTA Reflections contest? That includes writing sections, you could enter in that.
Also, I found a few good writing competitions on this website: [Writing & Poetry Contest: poetry, prose, non-fiction, novels, short stories, flash fiction, screenplays](http://proofpositive.com/contests/writecontests.htm)

Scholastic, Young Voices, TI, organizational contests, etc…

There is this fabulously convenient tool called a search engine. I suggest you try it for the first time. I hear Google is really popular these days.

Scholastic Art and Writing is very well known.
