I'm a junior this year and I've taken SAT IIs in bio and writing and i was planning on taking math IIc soon...

a lot of colleges like harvard, etc. say that they require three SAT IIs. Since writing is over, does it still count as one of the three or not? If not, I guess I'll have to take ush along with mathIIC in june, but I don't want to take it unless I have to...

Good question.
A number of juniors are in the same situation.

Might have to contact colleges directly wrt their treatment of SAT II Writing test ...?

I think that each college has its own policy. Check their web sites.

The last time(s) I checked, college sites were not specific enough about SAT IIs, for Class 2010 applicants.
Either 2 or 3 SATII ....

Some college's sites now are very specific for 2010 applicants because they know that the juniors now are taking their SAT I, II testing.

The policy for some Ivys like Harvard is 3 Sat 2's including writing if you're using Old Sat score and 2 Sat 2's if New Score.

Yeah, if you use the new SAT, most will not want a writing score. this has been known for a while since the revamp of the SAT, and you should have planned accordingly.

Writing counts as an SATII if it was taken as such.

Did you take the old SAT? If so, then they'll probably take the SAT II Writing test as one of your SAT II's (like they have for the past many years).

If not, then they might want another SAT II score, but since this is a transitional year, I seriously doubt that they will not consider or reject applications simply because of the number of SAT IIs you submit.

Email colleges for specifics

I've taken the old SAT and the new one but I did a lot better on the new one. Thanks guys, I guess I'll email some colleges...
