writing/lit club ideas?

I am currently a sophomore in highschool and my school doesn’t offer a lot of options when it comes to clubs involving writing/literature. So I was hoping for some ideas on interesting or fun clubs/publications I could start that focuses on writing/lit.
My school has its own newspaper (but you have to be a junior taking journalism to be involved with it) and an art/literary magazine…and that’s it.
Any ideas are appreciated, thank you.

A creative writing club where people get feedback and there are organized activities?

Definitely do the literary and art magazine. I was involved with my school’s for all four years and was managing editor for two years. Such a great experience.

If your lit magazine doesn’t already do this, you can organise coffee houses - free evening events of food and drinks with acoustic music and readings (preferably original works, but can be previously published material). Candles and string lights are key. My lit magazine had one every trimester. Always well-attended and filled with supportive, creative people. Oh, and remember to snap, not clap.

Thanks for the ideas~
Coffee houses seem really interesting, though I’m wondering how many people would sign up to actually to participate or if they would be on their phones the entire time. At my school, enrichments/afterschool activities are mandatory and sometimes people just sign up for whatever, even if they’re not interested, just so they have something to do. This is one of the issues I’m worried about because I don’t want a lot of uninterested people signing up and potentially ruin the mood.

I definitely wanted to do the lit/art magazine, but unfortunately they’re pretty selective in choosing who goes on their staff so maybe I’ll try again next year
