Writing SAT question

on ncsu engineering oage it says the writing sat score wont be considered until the fall of 2008, do then those applying for fall of 2088 or it wont actually start until the fall

the admissions officers at UNC Chapel Hill told me they were going to start considering the writing score this next year. I don't know if State is the same... but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Surely a godd score can set you apart from other applicants but I don't think a lower writing score would necessarily "hurt" you... of course, that is my opinion only.

When I first applied to State, I only had a 1650 SAT (1150 cr/m) with a 500 writing score, 480 cr, and a 670 math... Then I retook the test twice and got an 1850 (1260 cr/m)... State did not see this score until I was already accepted and invited to apply to honors program and scholars program.. Basically, gpa, class rank, and course load are far more impotant than test scores.

best of luck

YES they will.

I am not sure about NCSU Engineering but other departments are asking for it now.
From what I heard though, NCSU does not emphasize the SAT too much.
