i heard colleges aren't going to be that critical on the writing section this year since we have no real standards for it yet. anyone know if this is true?

Yes, most colleges, except for the UC system, will not be adding much weight to the writing section, because there is not enough information/statistics concerning its effectiveness.

thats good to hear because writing was my worst section

alrightttttttt

what is the uc system?

boooooooooooooo! I wish the ones that won't look at it would at least use it as an SAT II.

The UC system is the University of California public college system. They were very influencial in the new writing section.

That sucks, considering I got an 800 on the writing.

haha same here!!!

i want my 800 to count for something, otherwise my 2310 is a measly 1510...

Measly? Without my 800 on the writing, my 2090 is a measly 1290.

sarcasm is a lost quality on the internet...

This was from an article in Barron's...

MIT, University of Chicago, and Georgetown are top schools that are not factoring it into their decision.

Harvard & Stanford are 2 top schools that are giving it equal weight.

measly 1510? thats almost perfect on the old sats without the writing section. show off..
