writing subscores

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know whether your writing subscores(i.e. essay and multiple choice) show up on the grade report that colleges receive?

And also, I just got my jan. sat scores back; I got a 2360 (760 M, 800 W w/ 10 essay ack, 800 CR), but should I try to get my math score up (I took the Math IIC and got an 800, so will that balance it out)? I made a careless error, but I was leaning towards just leaving it because I'll probably just make another error again.

Great Score! Now, for your questions: yes, the score reports (including the ones that the colleges see) do show your writing multiple choice and essay subscores. And no, you should not retake it. I am sure that the 2400 is very tempting, but a) you probably will make another small mistake (and an 800 on the Math is pretty much always 0 wrong) b) you are already obviously good at math and c) you will look kind of crazy if you retake a 2360 :). There are a lot of great things to do on a saturday morning (Personally, I favor sleeping:)), but trying to improve a 760 is not one of them.

P.S. Don't worry about your essay score. You sound kind of like me (only I am not as good in grammer) in that you don't think that your essay score reflects your writing ability. I am sure that it doesn't, but a 10 is a perfectly respectable score on a...flawed essay section. There will be other indications of your writing ability, and a 10 will raise no eyebrows.

Thank you so much for the advice!! Good luck with everything; make sure you post when you get your 2400 so I can congratulate you! Too bad about the writing score showing up; I spent so much time crafting the essay and making it my "25 minute masterpiece" that I didn't get to finish. I don't think they look too kindly on people who don't finish haha :)
