I've had some really great teachers this year, and I am planning on writing a thank you note for each of them. However, I am super shy (hence the letter and not in person) and I don't know when or how to give them the letters. I thought about just leaving them on their desks because if I handed it to them it would be like thanking them in person and I wouldn't know what to say to them. Also, I will be out of one of my classes next week (because two of my classes switch off throughout the year) so should I give it to them then even though we are still in school, or should I wait until the last week? I just don't want it to be awkward if I give it to them now since it's not the end of the year yet haha. Thanks in advance!

Can you deliver them to the main office to be put in their school mailboxes?

^That’s a good idea. Teachers can lose things (especially things they don’t know are there) in the clutter on his or her desk.

I agree with the others. Only do what you’re comfortable with. There’s only been one teacher I ever created a really amazing thank you present for. We had to make a project for someone who helped us in eighth grade/our lives (most students chose their parents), and I chose my English teacher. I was forced to give a speech in front of him and the rest of the grade and all their parents. There was also a binder dedicated to him with lots of other personal gush (poems, essays, pictures, a book I bought him and another gift that was an inside joke). Anyways, it was a huge deal, and though we were/are very close, I was so nervous to give my speech and give him the project (but it turned out amazingly and he was so touched).

Anyways, I just wanted to commend you on working through your shyness and deciding that you still want to let your amazing teachers know what an impact they’ve made. It’ll be worth it.

E-mail them after the school year’s over maybe?

I emailed mine to my teachers, which is pretty good if I didn’t like the teacher, felt awkward about giving a letter and wanted to type something rather than write.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I think I will stop by the office to see if they will put the notes in their boxes next week. We don’t get out until mid-June, but I will be done with this one particular class and I had all the other teachers whom I am writing to last semester. And @MissSuzyQ I think that is awesome what you did for your teacher, especially since it was in front of so many others!
