will it hurt me if my teacher wrote an entirely different name on my recommendation letter? note, i am asking if it will HURT me. i already know it won't help me.
i am mainly asking for cornell if that makes a diffeence

you should probably write a letter to university…
how can it happen?? it means that your teacher doens’t know your name?

i am not 100% sure, i’m just playing out scenarios in my head. but seriously, will it actually hurt someone or will the college just completely disregard the letter?

I don’t think that it will somehow affect on acceptance, but I think you should send them at least an explanation of the situation

Calm down. Take 3 deep breaths. Actually take them, don’t just skip on ahead. Good? Good.

Do you have any reason to believe that this has happened? Did a GC or your teacher mention it to you? If not, and you really are just playing out a scenario, then just relax. I think you are letting your imagination run away from you.

If your name is Pat Smith and your teacher wrote how Chris Jones is the best student he ever had, then talk to your GC about how the teacher could resend the letter to the college.
