Has anyone already received a confirmation email stating that they’ve received all of your application materials? I talked to my two teachers and my guidance counselor, and they all sent out their materials on time, but I haven’t received anything back from WTP…
@abbiejie No, I haven’t heard anything either. I know my two teachers sent out their recommendation forms, but I’m going to double check with my counselor
I haven’t heard back either, but my counselor just submitted my fall semester grades in. If I don’t receive the mail in a few days, I’ll probably just email them, but they did say that they’d need some time going through all the applications.

DD went two years ago. It was an excellent opportunity.
They had a fair amount of homework, but they worked in small groups and there were staffers there to help when you needed help. She also developed a number of good friends with amazing talents who she has stayed in contact with. Although they all ended up at different schools, they have still found opportunities to meet a few times.
If you are accepted, you should attend. It was a very impactful experience. She did not know anything about engineering before, and she is now a freshman CS major in engineering.

I forgot to send my semester grades, too, but right after I sent them, I got the email saying that my application was finished. I’m not applying anywhere else, but I still might have a busy summer volunteering or working in a lab.
Does WTP try to accept students from all states like RSI?
The wtp web site states that they’ll post the date of admission decisions will be posted in March and also April 1. When did they post this last year?
They just posted today that admissions notifications will be emailed April 22!

This wait has been killing me for months (April 22nd does not count as MID-April!)
But if you guys are still wondering about what it’s like, there’s a blog that pops up if you google “wtp at mit” that one girl did of her stay there. It looks so amazing…

Anyone know if there’s a chance decisions could come out before the 22nd? I know they said BY. Lol just speculating.
The wtp mit site states Aprill 22 is the release date, but who knows, the release date might change. I believe I saw in past CC that the date was changed for a later date than it had been originally stated and then released closer to the date we are supposed to find out.
Do you guys know what the acceptance rate is for WTP?
@Aliiiiiiceee Well, if the site says 367 people applied last year, and 60 people get in, then that makes the acceptance rate about 16%. I think it’d be slightly lower this year, too, since more people tend to apply after each year.
My daughter was accepted to EECs 2 years ago, the key thing is the fact that she had zero experience in engineering. No robotics even. Those programs at her school was dominant by male and they didn’t let her get involved so she never really joined it. She just had good SAT scores and good GPA and possibly her essay.
Very good experience, she is a CS major now.
