@manas1997 I applied to math as well!
@wldb15 wat r ur stats? is WUSTL good for Math?
I bet if someone emailed WashU admissions they would be happy to answer when they think admission decisions will be released
@nandroida , nope, I emailed my counselor that, and he replied that we aren’t sure when they will be released, and cannot guarantee an early release this year. But I still bet we will hear back next week
@Epicorangeninja Oh ok, well that’s too bad. Then I personally think decisions might be later this year. Have applicant numbers been released for this year? Maybe WashU was barraged with applicants this year
Nope, its remained fairly leveled at about 30k for previous years, and I dont think there is going to be a great spike this year to make such a difference. I just don’t think counselor’s can actually tell us when they are released and just tell us to wait till April (in which all decisions will be out)
Hoping Admissions are sent out next week! I applied Under mechanical engineering! My stats weren’t amazing but it was worth a shot. 2020 SAT and 6% of my class. I expressed sincere interest in WashU and spent a while in the interview lol. Good luck to all!
I am so nervous. Going through all the resumes and stats of last years applicants and seeing their accomplishments makes me seem like a lost cause. Hopefully they find some potential in me. Ahh
I know how that feels, you most certainly got my sympathies @christianf011 … GUYS WUSTL IN LESS THAN A WEEK! I’m super excited and wish you all the best of luck. I’m sure y’all are great students and people
I’m a legacy - my mother graduated from the medical school. I’ve also demonstrated substantial interest. Do you guys think that this gives me a least somewhat of an advantage? Thanks!
@spiderwoman Are decisions definitely going to come out next week?
@objectivistuba, WUSTL cares much about demonstrated interest (due to its 30% yield rate). It’s definitely an advantage for this particular school. Plus you’re a legacy, which again would give you an advantage at pretty much all private schools.
@jkimmmmm, WUSTL historically releases decisions around March 10. Given the fact that there’s no huge spike in the number of applications for the class of 2019 there’s a HUGE chance it will be around March 10 this year as well.
Wish you all good luck!
@spiderwoman do you know if admissions emails us prior to the decisions coming out?
Similar to that question above, do I have to just keep checking the portal online, or how will I know when decisions have been released?
Others were posting that they got an email about scholarship decisions before it was added to their portal. So I think the admissions decision will be an email and later it will be added to your portal. Just my guess though
In my opinion, you should regularly check the portal online (or at least CC). An email would come, indeed, but it will only encourage you to check the portal saying “something has changed” (at least it happened for other schools). From my experiences, that email comes 2-3 hours after decisions are uploaded to the portal. But now that I put it this way, if you don’t check your emails regulary but wait for an email, you’d only lose 3 hours max. But again, WUSTL may have a different way of notifiying people but this is how it worked with my EA schools. @wizmaster @jkimmmmm
Hang in there people, only a couple of days left. Wish you all good luck and let’s keep those fingers crossed.
has anyone called the admissions office and asked?
Just a few more days!
@spiderwoman what schools did you apply to EA?
Does anyone know the number of applicants that get accepted/rejected/waitlisted? I guess I’ve just heard that Wash U waitlists quite a few applicants - more than other schools.
