x_X I took the SATs too many times!!!

1st: 2060
2nd: 2140
3rd: 2330

My third score is high enough, but it's only after my third try. I'm hearing and reading that three times is really bad, so how will this hurt me in admissions?

i'd never heard anything about that. that is a very good score! i think that shows your dedication and willingness to improve yourself. don't worry about it. colleges usually only look at the highest score anyway, so it really shouldn't matter the first few times you took it

well im more screwed than you are.

1280 (10th grade no studying)
2180 (11th grade no studying)
2320 (11th grade with studying)

Bump.........

Why do you care now? What's done is done.

Seriously. There's nothing you can do about it now, so don't look back.

how did u study to improve your score (both the above posters who listed their scores)?

Well...I'm going to take it a 3rd time...but I was wondering if 10th grade scores counted..cuz if not then I've only taken it once...not sure about that I heard different things from different people.

Well I upped 100 points, but that was only because my writing score was so bad I basically just gained 100 points there in 11th grade from my 10th grade scores...

I just got the SAT book and read it, and did a lot of problems, focusing on where I was weak and reviewing whatever grammar I was bad in.

you're ALLOWED to take it a third time? Will they still "superscore" it, or not?

i sure hope so

Thanks for the help everyone...

3 times isn't too much. what areyou talking about?

Well, even in the FAQ section at the school's site, they mention how more than twice is a bit of a stretch...

Citation (link) for the statement in #13?

anything 9th grade and above is on your record :) i took sats twice before freshman year (once to qualify for CTY and once to check out the new SAT)

if it's on your record, does it affect admissions though? would it "look better" if you got a 2400 the first time than if you got a 1800 and then a 2400, or a 1800 and then a 2200 and then a 2400?
(i've only taken the old PSAT and SAT in 7th grade)

for scores of seventh-grade test-takers compared to eleventh-grade test takers.

The reason they don't want you to take them 3 times is because it implies that all you do is study (yes, people are probably sick of me saying this). I personally took the SATs three times myself, but the first time was in 8th grade and by the time I got a 1510 as a 10th-grader (never studied for any of them) I decided that I was done...I knew that (a) proportionally I would have gotten a 1600 in my junior year and (b) the admissions people would be able to figure that out. Don't worry too much...your scores are very good and they understand that sometimes parents force their kids to take tests over and over until they get "good" scores, which is kind-of stupid in my opinion if the initial scores are good already.

so is this true: any SAT above 750 is acceptable?

Can you submit all your previous SAT scores to a college by selecting a college when you register for a new SAT?
