@Jarjarbinks23 - Not sure anyone on here will be able to tell you details. I can’t imagine any coach not looking at any qualified athlete. But this isn’t my area of expertise at all.

What I would suggest is that you contact the director of Tulane’s T&F program, Eric Peterson. This guy is tremendous, coming to Tulane after 16 years of success at UCLA. Tulane’s program has improved markedly in the 5 years he has been at the school. His contact info is:

My D just finished her Junior year at Tulane. She did seriously consider joining the XC team, so much so that she contacted the coach and had some conversation with him during the spring of her senior year in high school. He did ask her to send him some video of her running. She ultimately decided to not run in college, though it shows me that the coach is willing to talk with students who contact him early enough, they do not need to be students that he had on his radar for him to make the first contact.

I do not know what his standards are and any he has may have changed in the 3 years since my daughter contacted him.

I do know that my d had two major lung surgeries while in high school, which really slowed her down. He knew that and was still willing to talk with her.

It is worth a try, the worst that will happen is he will say no.
