I just found out my house assignments and i learned that I am in yakeley/gilchrist i dont even really know how to pronounce it. I was just wondering if anyone had any feed back on what type of dorm this is. I checked the website but did not find it particularly helpful.

Thanks

It's pronounced Yake-lee Gill-crest.

It used to be the only all-girl dorm on campus, but I think that might have changed.

They are the oldest dorms on campus - ivy growing up the walls and all that. A corner room in Yakeley Gilchrist is HUGE! The other rooms are average size.
The heat in those dorms can be a problem. In the winter, you control the temp in your room by opening and closing the window.

It's very close to downtown and the party scene. You won't have to walk as far as the people in Hubbard or the South Complex. It's also near the Union, and not too far from the Library.

I lived in Hubbard in 92 and Landon (near Y-G) in 93, and was much happier over by where you are going to be. LOTS more to do.

Enjoy your time at MSU. It goes fast.
