Yale 2014 Hopefuls

Ha, letter of continued interest. I never sent one in. shrugs

@plumdum
it might be a good thing that you sent your updates in early! they would have added it to your file & had a look at it when they were reviewing your application.
as for me (having sent it as late as feb 21st) - cant be sure to say the same :(

same… i send updates only like two weeks ago.:(

Well I faxed mine in late Feb too, but if you saw the article by the NYtimes for deferred applicants, they suggested sending in updates around mid- to late February. I wouldn’t worry too much! :]

this last stretch is so agonizing.

^ I agree.

In 3 weeks, everything will come at once and it will be terrifying, haha. So far, I’ve only had acceptances, deferrals, and waitlists… I’m starting to wonder what it’s like to have a definitive “no” for an answer… lol but not to worry, it will happen for me soon…haha

Yeah this is the worst. I really hope I get into one of my top choices…

^like just your current grades? not your semester grades…? :open_mouth: that’s a good sign, i would think.

woohoo! well congrats. any call is a good call! i remember when my interviewer told me the admissions office had called him about my interview the day it was going to take place. it was a good sign.

btw, did you apply SCEA?

and the first trimester of second semester? my first-trimester grades haven’t been great, since i’ve missed school often.

oh, haha. i was just assuming that you used our weird unofficial grading system of like trimesters within semesters.

I don’t mean to be a downer, but… I don’t think asking for first trimester grades would really mean anything, honestly. That’s your first available set of senior year grades, right? Almost all (top?) schools ask for your earliest set of senior year grades. That’s just a matter of completing your file. It’s not really a special request.

well, if he was rejected on the first read-through i doubt they would’ve called. it’s no guarantee, no.

Ahh, I was freaking out until a few days ago. but then I got an early write from swarthmore - which I like almost as much as I do yale - so that made things a bit better.
good luck to everyone ~! just think, in two months we’ll all know where we’re going.

yay, chibistar! my top three were Swarthmore, Princeton, and Yale. I still have a huge crush on Swat (and UChicago, but it was just too far away), even though (due to a variety of weird and unusual circumstances) I’ve decided not to go.

13 days left.

^ Wow good luck everyone, this’ll be me in a few years!

^hanana banana!

ive given up on yale. slances are too slim for hope

I’ve given up on Yale, my stats don’t even come close to comparing to those who are accepted, and well, the probability of being accepted is just way too low. I mean, if I get good news on April 1, I’ll be ecstatic, but, if I don’t get good news, oh well…I’m kinda sorta mentally prepared for that reality.

That’s exactly how I’m feeling too. I’d love to attend Yale, but I’m not going expect much come April 1st.
