Final Plans/other choices

Hey guys,
Since today and tomorrow are the two days where all college decisions come out, i was just wondering what are your plans and what else did you guys get into?

I don't know i got into MIT,Harvard,Yale, and CalTech....but i am still sticking with Stanford 100%..(hope you guys do to!!!!!!!!!)

Yea, I got into a couple of the other colleges I applied to U of M, and U.C. Davis. I didn't get into Berkeley, and don't know about L.A. but Stanford was my first choice and since Dec. 15th it is the ONLY one for me!!!!

Yeah, I got into Harvard and Princeton, and UC Berkeley, LA and SD today, but Stanford's been my #1 for a while now.

I got into Harvard, MIT and Berkeley but Stanford still pwns all.

I was EA Stanford, but I've been accepted to Berkeley and waitlisted at Chicago... I'm tempted to stay on the Chicago waitlist, but it's hard to imagine turning down Stanford at this point in the game...

I got into MIT and the UCs (and didn't end up applying anywhere else, I withdrew Dartmouth)
I'm pretty set on MIT, though I'm still going to go to admit weekend and see if Stanford does something amazing to change my mind back.

I got into UCR, UCD, UCSB, UCLA, UCB, and SUNY SB. But! Stanford's the only one for me!!! <3 <3 <3

:D

I actually have a Stanford e-mail now!!! :D

Shout out to all those who got accepted at Harvard and turned it down/plan to turn it down ;) I'm very happy at Stanford and have absolutely no regrets... and it does make me feel a little powerful to be in the small percentage who didn't accept Harvard's offer.

And oddly, I have friends here who seem much smarter than me and just more amazing in general who didn't get into Harvard! =p What a crapshoot.

Congratulations again to everyone!

Stanford is definitely my #1 choice. I'm totally in love with the school, lol.

I've been accepted to the five other schools I applied to (all of them were UCs, including UCB and UCLA).

I'm still anxiously waiting, so I shouldn't quite post in here yet. ;) The people in this forum are so cool, though. All of you seriously rock. B)

Well just to follow everyone else..I got into UniverMD College Park, NYU, Georgetown and George Washington..but we all know STANFORD is where the party's at!

Hahahaha!!! Too true!

got into dartmouth, columbia, and harvard. i'm pretty much split between stanford and harvard right now - it'll come down to visits.

speaking of which: H&S cross-admits, how are you handling the admit-weekend scheduling? not sure if i want to cut stanford short or get to harvard late, and i definitely don't want to skip either.

Just request to come visit early to one of them. I'm hosting a student who's coming next week for two days, weeks before Admit Weekend. It's really chill, although you won't quite get the vibe of being there with a ton of other admits.

I'm having a really difficult time; I usually take a while deciding on the menu during dinner, so choosing a college is a nightmare!

A fun nightmare, I'll add. :)

It's between: Yale, Columbia, Stanford.

I'm glad I don't have as hard a choice as some of you do! But I'd appreciate anyone who can comment on:

Stanford v Duke v Dartmouth

I'm not sure if I'll visit the last two (live in CA), but can anyone convince me that it's worth it having the peace of mind?

^Stanford for sure, c'mon why would you give up this amazing weather?
I'm glad I don't have as hard a time as you guys, since I guess I "underestimated" myself and the only other private schools I applied to were Cornell (in), UPenn (waitlist), Northwestern (guessing in?), Johns Hopkins (in)
And I didn't even really want to go to any of them except for possibly UPenn
so not much of a dilemma for me!

Duke: not that social in everyday life. Campus organization: dumb as hell (you have to ride a 15 minute bus to get from one side to the other). Weather: craptacular once it starts getting cold. I picked Stanford over Duke myself, believe me, it's not even logical to be considering Duke when you've got the option of going to Stanford.

Dartmouth: smaller, and in a considerably crappier part of the country, no offense to the people that go there. There's just nothing going on over there. It's cold, miserable, and boring. Stanford's in the heart of Silicon Valley. This is how we churned out Google, Hewlett-Packard, Youtube, Yahoo, and a ton of other cool stuff. Again, there are absolutely no reasonable arguments one could give for picking Dartmouth over Stanford.

If anyone else has any picking dilemmas, please ask. Believe me, I can easily allay any concerns that you might not be picking the best choice by going with Stanford.
