Yale 2014 Hopefuls

Yeah, it’s weird to visit multiple college threads one after another now.

For fun, I play a lot of sports, watch TV, hang out with friends, etc.

Hi everyone!

I’m from New York and I’ll be applying (probably today) for Physics and Philosophy. Yale isn’t my first choice (deferred EA from MIT :(), but I would love to go there. I’m also applying to: (in order of preference) Princeton, Columbia, Brown, UPenn, Cornell, Stanford, UChicago, Tufts, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, Northeastern, Boston U, and RPI.

Does anyone else miss those users who just completely stopped posting after decisions came out? Some of the regular SCEA posters seem to have disappeared D:

[edit] ^^^ Oh, and welcome RD-ers! Everyone’s school lists are so similar. it’s pretty safe to say at least a few of us will inevitably meet in real life :]

It’s going to be weird meeting any of you guys. Weird in a nice way though. I’m hoping that I don’t come off as stupid/mean/rude/annoying in my posts because I realize that I will most likely meet at least one of you in real life.

Hahaha, I miss the old SCEAers.

Yeah, it would be weird in the best way possible :] It’ll be interesting to see some of our personalities in real-life as opposed to on the internet.

Wouldn’t it be crazy if some of the CC Yalies got put in the same res college or even ended up being roomies? woah.

Whoa, that would be crazy. Naturally, my immediate reaction would be to go through all her posts on CC and decide whether or not I like her.

I realize that people are totally different online though, so that might be a bad idea.

I’m a white male from Arkansas.
I’m also applying to Columbia, Virginia, Wash U., Pomona, Rice, William and Mary, and Brown.

I hope that the colleges make the decisions for me…

[@Anonymous93] Yeah, true. even facebook would probably give you a better picture than CC.

Hey guys, female from SoCal here and hating the wait for decisions to come out~! :)

I’m also applying to Princeton, UPenn, Northwestern, Tufts, and a few UC’s.

Hey guys,
Guy from Holland, hating the wait also.
Also applying to princeton brown cornell dartmouth harvard tufts uvm stanford

I’m turning in my application tonight. Then I can enjoy the long wait with all of you! I’m from northern California. Hopefully the nowhere land I come from will help me in admissions… I dont know. My counselor said that I’m the first person to apply to Yale from our school in decades.

I turned in my application for Stanford, Brown, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Davis (already accepted. Yay.), am finishing up Yale right now, and have to finish up University of Chicago and Pomona College in the next day… So last minute.

Hey guys. I was an SCEA regular who got deferred to RD…ho hum

I’m a NA female from Pittsburgh
I applied to Smith, Scripps, Union and UAlabama(accepted into honors with full tuition)

I miss the old SCEA thread :(

I think we should just combine all the Ivys into one thread. I mean, most of us are applying to at least a few of them. And I feel like I’m talking to a lot of the same people, so it would just be easier to not have to visit so many threads. Maximize efficiency and all.

^^^a mega ivy thread
duh duh duhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I miss the old SCEAers too. We were oh-so loyal. But now, I think I see the same posters on all the Ivy threads, lol.

lol seriously, half of the princeton hopefuls thread is made up of once-yale-SCEAers.

Hey! I’m a guy from Singapore, it’s a country in south east asia in case you didn’t know… I’ll be requesting for a 2-year deferment if I do not manage to get a scholarship. If I do not get a scholarship, I’ll have mandatory military service for 2 years sob… But if I do, then I can serve the military after graduation…

^ those are two VERY different universities…

Woo…Submitted my app!

Whooo hoo. Submitted my application at 2 o’clock today. I was very happy with it. I made my common app essay MUCH better and was really honest in the short takes. And I liked my free-response quite a lot. Now let us fast-forward to April! >.<
