Yale 2016 SCEA Discussion Thread

I’m done with everything on Common App EXCEPT the “school forms” section. Under “school forms,” it says “no counselor added” for recommenders and “school forms in progress,” instead of “school forms assignments completed.”

However, I KNOW my counselor has submitted school forms and his recommendation because on Naviance Family Connection, the school forms and counselor recommendation have been submitted and are marked with green checks.

Please reply!

My counselor does not know, Common App says to contact Naviance, and Naviance office hours are closed (plus, they tell students and parents to ask the school/counselor!!!). aaaaaaaaaajkldjal;sdkfj;laksdf

You might be able to call Yale and ask if they received it.
I kinda have the same issue. My school still sends everything in by hand, so I don’t have my teacher recommendations on Commonapp.

Is anyone else having the issue of not being able to put in extra AP/SATsubjecttest scores on the Yale?
It doesn’t let me select the subject or the score.

Just submitted my app… kldsfjasdof

Funny story: my mom was with me as I submitted my app… I waited about 30 seconds then hit the submit button. Right after I clicked it my mom screamed “WAIT”. And I freaked out. Turns out she was just doing it to mess with me but for a second I thought I had a gaping error in my app.

Another Yale SCEAer here, I should be submitting tomorrow afternoon.

Eeep! After all of this time lurking and hastily searching for answers to specific questions, I have found time to submit my first post!

I just submitted my app! Yay! :)

I submitted! Then what happens? I’m clueless! Help! Thanx!

Procrastinators unite!!!

I called Admissions this morning and they said that the Yale 2016 SCEA deadline has been moved back 1 day to Wednesday, November 2nd (11:59 PM EST) due to weather. Can someone confirm?

I did the same thing to my daughter–boy, was she mad!

^My college counselor did the same thing…I had just clicked the button and he was like “Waaait!” or “Oh my god!”…I froze. :D

I am still debating with myself whether I should submit an additional recommendation…any advise? Two different places on the Yale admissions page say two different things: one says submit, if you feel the need to, the other one - don’t. I asked my MUN adviser to write one…she has known me for 4 years and, for sure, can say something about me that’s non-academic and more personal…

:?

Submitted. I was kindof expecting some big fanfare but nothing happened lol. Just the congrats email the common app sent me. I submitted my Yale supp at 11:11 so I am hoping for some good luck lol.

So… now we wait.

Hey guys, new here. I just submitted to Yale SCEA this weekend. Yikes! And so, the waiting begins…

sigatots → Oh hi there, I’ve been to both of those too! .D
Team Czech Republic…in Doha, we had that…um, “enhancement drugs in sports” debate against you!
So yeah, we’re kinda on the same line (except for that being Indian/Czech, of course, so yay for diversity! ,) )

So my alumni interview is scheduled for next Tuesday! Advice?

^ You already got an interview? :open_mouth:
I know this is going to sound cliche, but be yourself. And make sure that you get their contact info, especially if you’re meeting in a Starbucks (I’ve heard horror stories of how people went to the wrong one and missed their interview completely)

God. I submitted my app on Saturday! I’m so anxious! December can’t get here soon enough!

Yeah I was shocked they contacted me so quickly too. And how formal should I be if I’m interviewing in his home?

I got offered an interview too! I was pretty surprise cause I submitted my application only on Saturday. I hope I’m not too awkward and I can answer all the questions he asks proficiently. What should I expect?

I submitted my application last night (whoo, procrastination), and got hit by a killer migraine 30 minutes before clicking the “SUBMIT” button. I hope that’s not some ominous sign of rejection… And now we wait.
