Yale 2022 Applicants Discussion

Anyone not been contacted for an interview yet?

@MaybeHarvard2022 I interviewed before applying so I don’t think I’d hear from them regarding another

My D applied in early November and has not been contacted for an interview.

The deadline for interviewers to submit reports is February 15th, so you still have time, do not fret!

I applied SCEA and still waiting for mine

None for me yet but Idaho has a distinct lack of college grads so ya know it is what it is

I haven’t. I’m from SoCal so there’s no real problem in number of alumni, at least I think.

@person2000 Sometimes when you live in such a populated area there are just not enough alumni to interview all applicants! Don’t worry, it won’t negatively impact your application if you don’t get one- Yale will understand.

Just had interview today… took a while to find the place, but overall I had a pleasant experience. She was very welcoming and philosophical as well (she’s a justice at my state’s Supreme Court). It was more like a conversation and we talked about a lot of interesting things including topics that had nothing to with Yale. Very stimulating conversation and I very much respected the Yale alumni I interviewed with. I don’t know if I’ll be admitted, but I’m glad I am willing enough to try!

when does everyone think likely letters will be released this year? According to threads from previous years, the date was around January 24th. :open_mouth: It’s not that I’m hoping I’ll get one though LOL

Who receives likely letters?

https://apps.admissions.yale.edu/www/documents/Athletic%20Likely%20Description%2C%20JQ%2010.2014.pdf

Aside from recruited athletes, the vast majority of accepted applicants will not receive a likely letter, so your time is better spent doing something other than refreshing your email to see if one arrives.

My guess is not before 2/1

I’ve read that if you get better financial aid offer from another school, yale will increase your financial aid package. What schools do they have to be for? Does this mean Ivy League only or what tier college can it be?

@DLithium I would assume only schools within the Ivy League. I could be wrong though.

Yale started calling applicants who would receive likely letters on Feb 1st last year. Let’s see if they hold up

@DLithium - For Yale, we were specifically told that peer schools were Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford. Not UChicago, or anyplace else. Just HPS.

Someone I know received a call from Yale informing them that they had been admitted. Guess the likely letters (or calls in this case) have begun.

@MaybeHarvard2022 do you know what state they’re in?

@memememe00 georgia.

@-@ wow that’s exciting! I’m just gonna patiently wait for March 28th considering I def won’t be getting a likely letter LOL
