I submitted my art portfolio to Yale today, after obsessing over innumerable small details. HOWEVER, I seem to have glanced over the tidbit about file size, and I submitted images that are too large. I did not encounter any problems during the submission process, and I received a confirmation email after I uploaded my photos. Should I worry that my files exceed the designated pixel size? Should I upload them again, but as smaller files? Or, should I send my portfolio as photographs? Any advice will be appreciated!

Wait… I submitted mine too a few days ago but didn’t know anything about a maximum pixel size? Which was it?
I figured since I received the confirmation I’m good. You’re probably fine too.

It says on the website:
“Resolution of . jpeg, .jpg, .tiff, .tif, or .png images should not exceed 768 pixels in height and 1024 pixels in width.”

My dimensions are larger than 768 x 1024. I don’t think it matters much.

If you are worried, send the admissions office an apologetic e-mail and ask them if they’d like you to submit smaller images.

^I did that as soon as I realized my mistake. The only problem is that they will receive the emails after the deadline, seeing as it’s still winter break. Fingers crossed?
