You are right oceanix, most must have heard already… Very interesting.

Yay!!! I got my letter today!!! See you all at YES-W :)

Anybody coming from Atlanta area? Let’s exchange pm…

Out of curiosity, what science stuff have you guys done to merit your likely letter? Just interested in what Yale is looking for with this new group.

Also, do you guys have access to the Admitted Student website? Hit me up :D

They aren’t technically admitted yet, so they wouldn’t have access to the site, I’d think.

@Vaeliant
I’m mainly a math-oriented person…I’ve done a few math competitions and participated in some summer math programs as well.

Just to give you an idea, I still keep in touch with my math camp friends through facebook, and of those who actually applied to yale (some didn’t), I already know 2 others who got likely calls for YES.

@oceanix
Actually, I think we do have access to the admitted student website. I can log-in to a page that has a bunch of stuff (like a profile, chat, blue book [?], etc) as well as a special section devoted to the YES weekend.

Oh. Is that Blue Marble or something else?

i’m not sure if that is the admitted student site 'cause that admits site doesn’t have a sectionf for YES weekend.

Oh it IS blue marble!
I was wondering what blue marble was, but I saw it in the menu/sidebar thing…cool :)

@lola122
I’m not sure…I mean, I can see all the names of the Yale admits so far and they have profiles and stuff…but in the menu/sidebar there is a separate section under the headline “Engineering and Science weekend.” I don’t know what the real admit site looks like, though.

@dte000 well it has a sidebar with stuff like chat, boards, blogs, your messages, your profile. then towards the bottom it has a section for freshman orientation programs. it has links like “say yes to yale” and and to the YDN. And currently there’s this huge countdown for a massive chat that’s going down this sunday.

but the site your describing sounds pretty similar. excepts for the YES-W thing.

I honestly don’t know how I got the letter. I’m a math person too but not anything exceptional (just AIME). For sciences, I guess maybe USABO? I didn’t make the camp but my score was pretty close and I reported it on the supp. I also got the Siemens ap award thing. Still, I can’t believe how luck I am. :D

Got the letter! Congrats to everyone.

Where are you guys logging in to the website?

I got the letter and phone call too! Congrats to everyone else as well.

You can login at www.admits.yale.edu/yesw

It’s pretty cool…we can get a free tshirt too! Haha.

I’m a bio guy, and I did some bio research at a local university. Looks like they’re getting a whole bunch of brilliant math and science students together! Sounds pretty interesting.

Are any of you staying another night on campus on Monday and flying back on Tuesday?
