Maybe you were “overqualified”? I know of some safeties that wait list students they know would almost have no chance of attending the school. </p>

<p>@jackson61 Occidental College. I know all schools have their reasons for everything so I don’t want to sound bitter, but I thought my essays were really good, and I was school dux (finished top of my class), despite missing three months of school in Year 12 due to sickness, thought that would count for something. Also rejected from Davidson. Oh well, a bad day and move on I guess! At least I’ll never have to listen to anyone til me URMs get in automatically anymore</p>
<p>How about duke losing and breaking everyone’s hope in the bracket? Duke sucks. Just kidding, I am also waiting for their decision.</p>
<p>I didn’t pick Duke so my philosophy of picking about 50% upsets is working … this year!</p>
<p>@SummerAus Ah, I’m sorry about your rejections… if it makes you feel better, I got rejected from Northwestern/UCLA and waitlisted at UChicago/UCSD… and UChicago WAS my dream school! :P</p>

<p>I’m glad I’m finally hearing back from colleges because the January-March waiting game was absolute agony, but now with waitlists we have to suffer just a little more. :-w </p>

<p>@romeonachos I think UChicago waitlisted a LOT of people this year. Apparently their essay readers changed, too, so the accepted essays are different from the usual ones?</p>
<p>And oh God yes… I’m still waiting on seven decisions: Cornell, Yale, Harvard, UC Berkeley, University of Michigan, NYU and Stanford. This week is gonna be Rejection Hell for me…</p>
