hey-
anyone else know theyre for sure applying EA to yale?
or is it too early

I am!!!!
:)

I am applying early too, but i still haven't started on my application.

I'm pretty sure I'll apply early...

But I'm visiting at the beginning of September just to make sure.

i am! but like richard, i'm visiting just to make sure

I am definitely applying early. I've been to Yale once, and it is AMAZING!!! So I'm going back in September. I just can't stay away.

me too, me too!
I think i wanna visit but I don't i have time!

Hope - it's amazing! In a way, I should not be encouraging you to apply because, frankly, you're competition. But I must spread the love. The Yale love.

i looove the campus.
i was initially thinking about princeton, but i got turned off by the eating clubs and then i went to visit yale
and i was happy
:)
ok...so lets not make this thread so statsy...since stats suck and make me more neurotic then i already am. we dont want that to happen.
how bout:
fave music/tv/book or some really bizaare anecdote about yourself?
lets all get in!
(if not, youre all going down)
just kidding.
but seriously...

Ok, I'm game!

Favorites:
Band: Cake
TV Show: The Daily Show or the Simpsons
Books: "The Moor's Last Sigh" - Salman Rushdie, "100 Years of Solitude" - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Movie: Wag the Dog

I'm sure I have bizarre anecdotes, but I can't think of any right now.

If I end up going to Princeton (not likely, since I'm not applying), I'm totally going to form a "no silverwear" eating club. Anything that is served, including rice, spaghetti, soup, etc., must be eaten only with the hands. Then, one night a year, I'll host a "no-hands" night, where you just have to eat everything with your face.

fave music - Tupac
TV Show - Chappelle's Show! Daily Show, South Park, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Family Guy
Books: 1984, Kaffir Boy, The Autobiography of Malcolm X

Favorite Music/ Band: Dave Matthews, Bob Marley, Ben Harper, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding
TV Show: South Park, Daily Show, Kathy Griffin, Comic View , The Simpsons.
Books: She's Come Undone, Jacob Have I Loved (I have an emotional attachment to this book) The Poisonwood Bible.
Movie: Y Tu Mama Tambien, Requiem for a Dream.

Bizarre anecdote: Hmmm. Well this isn't a bizarre anecdote really but it concerns Yale so yeah, everyone at my school is applying to Yale. Last year Brown was the hot trendy school, and apparently this year Yale is the cool place to be. Fabulous. (not). Honestly, 40 people of about 125 in the class of 2005 applied to Brown last year. Whats with these people?
another anecdote: My friend just called me from St Croix thinking that she was calling someone else and I convinced her that I was that person for about five minutes. It was great. I laughed, I cried, and I moved on. Okay, I need to go to sleep. :)

Hello all! I'm from Austin, Texas and I am most definitely applying early!

Favorite Music/ Band: eclectica (from the Rolling Stones to John Williams and nearly everything in between)
TV Show: South Park
Books: The Scarlet Letter (Hawthorne), The Seagull (play - Chekhov), A Rumor of War (Philip Caputo), The Tempest (play - you know who)
Movie: my quirkier favorites: Frida, Gosford Park, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Goodbye Lenin!

Bizarre anecdote:
Everything in my life is blue. My room is blue. My sheets are blue. My desktop background is blue (and oddly has a picture of Tallinn, Estonia, where I've never been but randomly like). My Car is blue. My Bathroom is blue! my TISSUE BOX is blue!!!!

and yale's blue too...

Oh, I though of an mildly interesting Yale related anecdote. So, my dad works at Butler University, and we live about 30 seconds from campus. Whenever the bookstore is getting new t-shirts in, they give away the old ones to staff and faculty, so my dad is always bringing home these free shirts for me. Butler's colors? Blue and white. Butler's mascot? The bulldog.

Therefore, I should definitely be admitted since I have so many blue and white bulldogs shirts.

my favorites:
music: green day, as i hope you noticed from my username. also, the killers and weezer and the clash and coldplay and most punk/indie/rock. i hate country and rap.
shows: yes, daily show. :) and best week ever, gilmore girls (why the hell would rory give up yale? loser), arrested development, and all the moronic but crazy addictive shows on the n.
movie- office space, ferris bueller, best in show, school of rock.
books- cats cradle, gone with the wind, me talk pretty one day, anything jane austen
i have no bizaare anecdotes, even though i am pretty bizaare. go figure.

ive been told i have a lot of blue clothing. i dont think this has to do with yale. oh well.

this is SO much better than the Harvard EA thread.

That's because Harvard is stupid.

My favorite band is Belle & Sebastian, my television program is Six Feet Under, and my favorite book is 100 Years of Solitude.

Finally! Someone else who appreciates Gabriel Garcia Marquez! We had to read "Chronicle of a Death Foretold" over the summer for English, and everyone was complaining about it even though it's about 100 pages long. I don't get it! I love Marquez!

Lol, well, count me in for the EA pool. I'm from Eagle Pass, TX, a tiny little border town.
Fave Music: I love just about everything except country...and when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING; I've got stuff from most languages and cultures. Shiina Ringo's by far my favorite artist, though.
Fave TV Show: House! It's sooo great, intelligent, witty, and fun.
Fave Books: Well, Harry Potter, of course. I also love Memoirs of a Geisha, and just about every book by Dean Koontz.
Fave Movies: Intolerable Cruelty, Monty Python and the Holy Grail :) Ferris Beuler's Day Off, Signs
Bizarre Anecdote: Hmm...I have tons, but I can't think of many right now. There was this one time where a 50 year old tried to hit on me, and he said I looked like his daughter...THAT was freaky. And then someone thought that my father was my husband...even worse. I don't know, nothing else comes to mind right now.
