I was just rejected from Wharton. Ahh well. I figured it was one of the least likely schools I might get into.</p>

<p>Son rejected- No 1 in class, 2310 SATs first try, no preps or coaching, 8 APs with 5s on 4 of them, not tested the rest yet, national merit finalist, He had no great hook or passion like serving in Africa or writing a symphony at age 12. I blame myself for being lower middle class, no family connections or pull and white. Best of luck to those that did get in!!! </p>

Isn’t everybody glad they applied though? At least you know you gave it a shot, and can laugh with your kids someday about how you got rejected from all the Ivys.</p>

<p>@chocolatee I royally messed up my Oxford PPE interview, and I’m not Asian, so I got rejected from LSE too (meh) but I’m hoping for an offer from Warwick 
I have a thing for campus unis. Though I have to say, I took Oxford worse than Yale. Probably because I’ve been to Ox a million times, knew the city and some ppl who teach there, whereas Yale was just a concept I learnt about on the web…
@colldid Come on, everyone here has wonderful stats and achievements, and we really shouldn’t take it personally. We’ve ALL already achieved something, because had we not, we wouldn’t have applied to Yale in the first place. So keep being white and middle class because college isn’t the end of the world. Frankly speaking, some of the most exciting and worthwhile thngs I’ve done were ‘inspired’ by rejections from the aforementioned British schools, so it’s not the end of the world! Keep your son motivated and eventually he’ll get somewhere. We all will ;)</p>
