I live in an area near a major city, so I thought my chances for an interview were slim because it’s a heavy applicant pool. As more time passed I was pretty convinced I would not be offered one. I also read somewhere that the alumni reports were due at the very latest December 1st, which makes sense seeing as that’s about two weeks before decisions. However, I was surprised when I was offered an interview so late (about 2 days ago), and it’s this weekend. The interview is roughly a week before decisions, so I’m just curious as to whether such a late interview will be added to my application.

The Committee probably continues to make decisions right up to the day the results come out since they don’t come out till evening. Unlike your hard deadline, the December 1st is not. I have done interviews just days before decisions come out. Its an electronic process. They’ll see it almost immediately. Now whether it’ll make a difference is a different story. Interviews very rarely are the deciding factor for an applicant.

Why does the date say class of 2018? It’s class of 2015, isn’t it?

We’re/hopefully will be the Yale graduating class of 2019.

I’m so anxious I’m starting to zone out.

@chncsy They won’t be completed until 2017, so we’re missing that spike in the admit rate by a few years. :P

^ Disregard that…I may have hallucinated a post asking about the new residential colleges being built…

@anon029 Yea I realized that right after I posted it. Lol

@anon029 I did post something about the residential colleges, but I did so from my tablet which is currently glitching.

What have you guys been doing to tide yourselves over to decision time? I’m a huge gamer, so right now I’m deep into Shadow of Mordor and watching The Game Awards.

too late to send update email? 2 moderately significant achievements just cropped up, but I don’t want to bother the admissions office

@paleselan I’m hanging out on collegeconfidential talking about college. Seriously, it’s all I’ve been doing.

@loyalty It’s probably too late. Decisions come out in 5-6 business days. I think 95% of the decisions have already been made.

@ilovethecity We’re not really doing anything in school, so that’s what I’m doing during the school day Right now I gotta get my mind off it.

My senior year has more work than last year so I’m basically always preoccupied. But I lurk on CC while doing other stuff as well.

I’m actually dreaming about this stuff now. Just as I’m about to find out whether I’ve been accepted or not… my alarm wakes me up

@chncsy Wow, my junior year was easily my most difficult. Not only did I have more classes than this year, but it was my first real year of IB, and I had to test in two classes (usually you don’t test until your senior year). This year my grades are so solid and I’m much less stressed out about school.

Also, at the beginning of the year I was in the middle of a campaign internship, so I was pretty busy, but when the elections came around my life became a bit easier. .

Can anyone say what type of song should be played? How will that work? We enter to with our Eli account after the decisions are ready and immediately there will be song played in the accounts of admitted students?

The song that has played in years past is the Yale fight song - being performed by an animated bulldog (the mascot). If you are really curious, a number of people have posted youtube videos of themselves logging in and getting the notification.

Not this version, but: <a href=“Yale University Bulldogs Fight Song - YouTube”>Yale University Bulldogs Fight Song - YouTube;

Is anyone else considering waiting a day before checking their decision?
