Yale Class of 2027 Official Thread

For me the Slate thing just says complete at Yale and the ivies, but decided at Georgetown. Is that good? I mean if it’s decided at this moment it wasn’t a hesitant choice.

Did you EA to GTown? Mine also says decided but I believe that’s just the deferral.

Nope Regular Decision.

It would be ironic if you got into Georgetown and I got into Yale lol.

I don’t know if deferral means “decided”. Isn’t Slate supposed to sync up with at the schools daily/periodically… so even if it was marked as “decided” when EA decisions were released, it should’ve changed back to “complete” or whatever before being moved to “decided” again… don’t you think?

Is there any reason why Yale doesn’t say decided? Or is it good?

it says “decided” for us, but we’re ED deferred. so who knows… I think slate is sloppy.

No, we can only see the applicants who applied to our university-that too the students who applied to our program only. I am kind of surprised that students are able to login and see the status.

Exactly. We are Duke deferred and it shows “Decided” for us at Duke.

Indeed. One my my friends sees “complete” for a school he already got rejected from

Hi, I am an international student. I submitted the CSS profile and all the other required documents. Today, I checked my financial aid portal and saw that the FAFSA was showing as required. Isn’t FAFSA only for domestic students?

Not sure. I thought it meant deferrals because it seemed to be decided for a lot of people, but I guess not.

Does it honestly maybe mean they made a decision on an application?

I believe it is. Many colleges are using it - its like a Salesforce for companies. I honestly think all of the portal/financial aid astrology is going to get the best of me by March 30th! I am on CC so much venting bc I dont want to talk about it with DS and stress him out. Yale is one of his top choices and I guess the truth is we really cant predict what will happen…the Yale podcast was saying that sometimes they over admit and they have to give up acceptances. So those who evenutally are rejected could have been right up to the wire. Best of luck to your kid!! Sending good vibes…

Thank you! Best of luck to your kid as well.

With all the discussions related to the household verification form earlier, i wonder if they all see ‘decided’ in slate. If they do, then that might mean something.

No, the only people who’ve gotten decided on Slate (for Yale and many other schools) are EA or ED applicants. Everyone shows up as completed. Slate isn’t also very organized…there are some schools I’ve gotten decisions for already but still show up as in progress on Slate. Most schools aren’t updating info into Slate/keeping it constantly updated.

No, Everyone who applied ea or ed to schools gets decided on slate. schools don’t always keep Slate very updated. “Decided” for ea/ed applicants just means they’ve made the initial early decision already. All CC and Reddit people who apply early have decided as their Slate status

my son applied to Duke RD and his says “decided” - its so confusing!

Got it, yeah, great inconsistencies among schools.

Slate is useless. The “updated” time especially - I stayed on the main page for a few minutes and all the updated times reset themselves to reflect the current time.
