New to CC! I was accepted to Yale EA in December (yay!) but since my parents’ prior tax return was missing, I was not able to get an immediate financial aid offer. I uploaded the documents via the finaid.yale.edu portal around December 25 and haven’t received any update since.
When should I expect a financial aid award letter? Should I way a few more weeks and contact the AO?
@HansZimmerLover As someone who spoke to the folks at Yale Fin Aid quite a few times over my son’s 4 years at Yale, I can say that they are very eager to help when contacted.
It was also my experience that uploaded documents can be overlooked if not sent to a specific individuals attention, but if you follow up with a call to give them a heads up, they’ll get right on it.
@HansZimmerLover, unfortunately I have no helpful advice on your question…but my son was admitted early to Yale as well, is planning to attend BDD—and is a HUGE Hans Zimmer fan—so I just had to respond! Perhaps there will be a way to connect you both to say hello! Congratulations on your acceptance and good luck.
Our tax return was not uploaded either. I uploaded it a few days after my son was accepted early decision, and they got back to us with the package mid January. I also then appealed it and got a new package at the end of January. I hope you got your package by now @HansZimmerLover
