Your friend was probably talking about his standout interview, not the one was with an admission officer these interviews were not released before mid April… Are you sure you were talking about the same interview?
No I am pretty sure it was the AO interview. He is a veteran if that makes a difference. However, I could totally be confused with what he told me.
ok ok thank you for sharing… it could still come by the end of week… did you notice if they were many slots still open when you booked your interview?
There was about 6 days worth of slots with about 4-7 time slots each.
I hope this can help you guys feel a little bit more relieved (at least for about a week). According to the AO, the interview request with the admission officer (not the StandOut) will be sent out on a rolling basis through April 25th. However, the AO did not answer whether not being selected for the interview is an automatic rejection.
Hello, has any international student got an interview request? I mean international students with foreign academic qualifications, not international student in the US.
Most comments I’m reading here are from US citizens who are veterans and I am neither. So I would like to know if there are international students here and how many international students does Yale admits fro the EWSP?
Did you get this information from the email they sent out in early April, or did you actually call the AO?
I emailed the AO.
From this thread, I don’t think any international student was selected for the interview yet.
However, unfortunately, compared to Harvard, Stanford, and Columbia, Yale’s EWSP historically had very very few, based Yale’s website, international students who were accepted. From what I’ve seen on Yale’s website, if I am correct, there was only one international student accepted to Yale’s EWSP. One person was an accomplished ballerino from the U.K. Another case was one who was a (presumably) refugee from Ghana, which technically makes the applicant a domestic student. It seems very similar to Princeton which accepted zero international student for its transfer admission, according to its website. Maybe I am wrong, but as an international student myself, this is quite discouraging.
Similar to Stanford/Harvard/Princeton, it seems that many slots are reserved for military veterans, domestic low-income students, and URM, as it is stated that military veterans are especially encouraged to apply.
Yes, I got my AO interview invite on 4/11 and I had not done my StandOut interview.
Not sure about Yale EWSP, but I have friends at Harvard, Stanford, and Princeton (successful transfers), and a lot of the students in their cohorts are non-URM and non-FLI (most aren’t either).
Yes. I agree it is possible. However, I do believe the cohorts I’ve mentioned have a slight edge. I really do hope that you can get into HYPS. I’ve realized that I really have a slim chance after writing this. Well, I am still grateful for multiple other schools that accepted me and offered scholarship despite being an international student.
I am an international student (from Canada) and I haven’t received an interview request yet. I also applied on the deadline so I’d imagine I’d be at the bottom of the pile if I was competitive enough to deserve an interview.
Good luck, everyone🙏🏻
Wow… Congrats Good luck
Still quiet and no interview request for me ugh
Don’t lose hope. Keep your spirits high!
Apparently Yale have restructured the program this year, but no one knows what that really means
what have they restructured?
where did you find it?
No more interview? seriously…
