<p>the title says it all. i have a yale interview tomorrow, and i need some tips about how to act, what to ask, etc.</p>
<p>Be yourself. Ask questions about what you want to know about Y and the Y experience.</p>

<p>Don’t bring a resume - its my understanding and reported experience from recent interviewees that Yale ASCs do not take them. Bring your conversation about topics that interest you. At the end, don’t allow, or be in the position for the interviewer to tell you, “don’t be disappointed.” I’ve had that summary reported to me as well; “Don’t get your hopes up, don’t be disappointed.” Hopefully you will have a more enthusiastic interviewer than this. You should prepare yourself to bring the conversation perhaps about the competition/intramurals between the residential colleges & student life at Yale, along with your interests in the studies that you hope to pursue there. <p>I brought a resume to my interview (which was in a law office) and the interviewer kept it. During the interview, I just mentioned that I brought a resume after describing a few of my EC experiences, in case there was something there she might want to know more about that I didn’t already discuss. (There were one or two things she asked about from there.)</p>
<p>Of all the interviews I’ve done so far, none have offered any insight into whether I did well or poorly - I think most interviewers are smart enough not to give any clues away, or that colleges ask them not to.</p>
<p>Things I like to ask about:
<em>Activities - anything in particular that the interviewer did?
*</em>Music/sports/publications for me
*The town - culture, environment, community, institutions/museums?
*Connections -did they make connections from the school or are they still in touch with former classmates?
*What was most unique about school X?
*What drew them to pick school X?
*Anything they regret not doing or taking advantage of during college?
*Campus - especially libraries and atmosphere
*Class sizes/professor availability
*Research/internship/study abroad opportunities
*What about school X has influenced you to today or changed how you approach the world?</p>
<p>Better to overdress than underdress; wear casual if requested, though!</p>
