yale is visiting my school

So I was deferred SCEA, and the day after Yale requested to come to my school for an information session in mid-January. My GC thought this was odd considering it is after apps are due and I am the only person from my school applying. Any thoughts? Has this happened to anyone else?

It’s coincidence. I visit schools on behalf of Yale. I certainly am not altering my schedule over any one individual who might and might not be applying or their SCEA status. Indeed, only the ASC director or actual Admissions person would even know you applied. You well could have been accepted or rejected and the request to visit would still have been made.

That person is visiting for the benefit of current Juniors, who are at the sweet spot of getting serious about colleges they might want to apply to.

I agree that it’s a coincidence. It could be that the rep has some other business he or she is doing in your area and so decided to tie it in with a visit to one or more schools in the area.

I agree that they are probably there to concentrate on the juniors who should be beginning their college search. This may help them to craft their spring break college tour itinerary.
