I’m sure you’re a wonderful applicant, as are the thousands of students who are rejected every year. Admissions Officers use essays and teacher recommendations to help them distinguish between one high performing applicant and another – and we are not the ones reading those. The only true way to really know your chances, is to toss your application into the ring and see what happens. Best of luck to you.
I understand what you are saying. It was ignorant of me to make a post asking about my chances, when the chances of getting into Yale are around 5%. Thank you for your input as well.
At this point looking at your stats, all anyone can say is that you are essentially just as competitive as any other applicant. Admissions can be hit and miss really (sometimes a lot of missing), but good luck on your college admissions process!
The colleges’ websites say “before April 1st,” but last year I think they notified on March 27th (or around then). We’ll probably hear back sometime around then too.
It may be true that notification date is 3/31 BUT i was just perusing the Cornell RD site and there are quite a few “acceptance likely” entries from students who have already received email notifications that they will be accepted.
^ Those are likely letters. All Ivy League schools (and others) send them to a small number of applicants. It has nothing to do with the official notification date.
