I'm a smaller town white suburban kid that hasn't won any national honors. I scored a 1470 and have been really involved at school... so basically I'm the equivalent of 75% of the 90% of total applicants that get the boot. Oh, and I have no relatives or D1 athletic talent. :) lol.. I guess I'm just being pessimistic tonight. If I get in it'll be sweet but I really don't have my hopes up. It'll be cool to see how everyone else's Decisions turn out, though.

I think that, overall, Dartmouth is a much better fit. When I visited Yale, I just was not impressed overall, I don't like the safety issues with being an inner-city campus, and I just did not find the atmosphere of the school in general to my liking. I know this is a dream school to many others, and I was in fact born at Yale-New Haven Hospital, so I'm not purposefully trying to bash it, but these are just my own personal experiences and opinions.

I fell in love with D as soon as I visited--it seems as if somebody tailor-made a college that would be perfect to my needs and desires. Academically, it's only an infinitesimal grade lower than HYP, and still is one of the top 10 in the country. I love the outdoorsy quality of Dartmouth (the Appalachian trail runs through Hanover), and it's the perfect place to try many sports and activities that are difficult, if not impopssible, in which to participate for a semi-poor public school kid (i.e. skiing, crew, etc). I just love everything about the area. I have also heard that it's one of the most social Ivies, it's students are the happiest and among the most loyal, and that the school really is a community. Oh, and the campus completely blew me away, unlike Yale's, which to me was a bit of a letdown.

Even if I get accepted to Harvard, Yale, and Notre Dame today, barring exceptional circumstances ($), I will go to Dartmouth.
