I read the policy for Yale SECA on their website but I’m still a little confused. I want to apply to a few bs/md programs and their deadlines are mid November and early December. If I apply to Yale SECA am I still allowed to apply to bs/md programs?
I’m in a similar boat, and I based on what I’ve read this is allowed. Most of the early BS/MD deadlines and other early deadlines for merit scholarships aren’t restricted from SCEA because they are not Early Action or Early Decision programs, which is the only think Yale SCEA prohibits. Hope this helps, and best of luck!
@kitkat82 Thank you for the information!
Yale’s SCEA policy on the FAQ page are very specific: http://admissions.yale.edu/faq/single-choice-early-action
So, my interpretation would be:
- If the BS/MD program is at a public non-binding college, you can apply to Yale SCEA and that college.
- If the BS/MD program participates in non-binding rolling admissions, you can apply to Yale SCEA and that college.
- If the BS/MD program is at a private college that notifies student's of acceptance before January 1st, you cannot apply to Yale SCEA and that college early.
