Yale sued by students over mental health

Interesting article on students suing Yale over their treatment.

We often advise students in apps not to mention / bring up mental health struggles.

Of course we don’t know the full details from Yale itself but these students seem to think that the school isn’t interested in helping.

I read a similar article today on the Washington Post website at https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2022/11/30/yale-lawsuit-mental-health-suicide/. I think it’s pretty bad. One of the latest “Your College Bound Kid” podcast episodes talks about the article…their take on it was interesting to listen to. It’s not an environment that I would want my kid going to for sure.

There’s another article about UVM and sexual assault. Colleges are risk managers. Whether the articles are true or not, there’s certainly shady stuff. Look at the entire Michigan State gymnastic saga, Penn State football, Ohio State wrestling and more. Even the Stanford soccer goalie who committed suicidal. Or the Dartmouth profs forcing students to have sex with them a few years back. Not saying the schools are to blame as I’m not a judge but there seems to be a lot of stuff related to colleges and not doing their part in certain instances. And sometimes I worry that people worship these schools.
