Yale Summer Session

I got accepted by the Yale summer session through my local university (in Asia). I am super excited because I have never been to America and of course Yale!! However, the whole course fee is really expensive actually and I am quite worried about whether there are any welcoming or student activities like college competition that sort of things around the campus during the summer? Will I have a chance to join different clubs or teams? Will there be like so quiet around the campus? Is there any special traditions of Yale thats worth trying? I really wanna experience the life of Yale in 5 weeks:)

Another thing is that since I am not so familiar with Yale, I am wondering which particular subjects are Yale famous for? Could you guys recommend some courses that are relatively fun and meaningful for me? I am thinking about taking Introduction to cognitive science and history of arts. Did any of you try these 2 courses and what are your comments?

Thanks so much!!!

No one has any comments???

The lack of response should tell you something- most people who attend Yale do not stay for the summer session. Yale in the summer will not be anything like Yale during the school year in terms of social life, clubs, teams, etc. The classes will probably be fine, they will be taught by Yale faculty, but many of the students will be other non-Yale students visiting campus for the summer. The buildings and libraries and museums will be the same, and the courses you are considering will probably give you plenty of reason to visit the libraries and museums on campus. So it could be a good Yale experience in that respect. And there will not be any snowstorms!

Sorry to discourage you, but it is a lot of money and you deserve to know what you are getting into.

Hey there! I just got my acceptance email !
