Yale Transfer Fall 2015

rejected. can’t imagine what the 30 accepted students are like. that makes me feel like shit.

ACCEPTED! wow… I’m in shock. THANK YOU GOD…

accepted. for god’s sakeeeeee

rejected!! Congrats to all those who were accepted!! Blessed to even be at an institution!! No tears or sadness, just happy I went for it you know? Once again, congrats to all who were accepted!

Echoing Awilo13’s thoughts…rejection always stings, but my first year at college has given me first hand experience in understanding that how far someone goes in their life goals depends so much more on them than any sort of institution…in the end I can say certain aspects of the atmosphere or certain academic resources at Yale would have benefitted me more, but it’s still just three more years of my life in the long run. I’m really happy for those of you who were accepted. To those who were also rejected like me, I hope you’ll keep your chin up and end up somewhere you can enjoy yourself and fulfill all of your dreams :slight_smile:

@Athena95 and @CardinalZenn did you just receive the e-mail?

Yupp

@transferlol
Mine came a few hours ago, but I was asleep.

@CeaselessPain yup, “over 1,250 individuals who applied to transfer to Yale this year… With room for fewer than 30 students…”

@CardinalZenn would you mind sharing your stats?

@EnDeee

Sure. Just keep in mind (all future CCers) that everyone will have similar stats at this point. I believe that essays and recs matter most.

But just to clarify:
ACT: 33
HS GPA: 3.8
College GPA: 4.0
AP: CalcAB(5), Gov(5), Lang(4), Lit(4), History(3), Art(3)

I’ll make a more thorough post about my application later because I learned a lot form past Yale transfers on CC, and I want to help future ones.

Congrats my Handsome Dans; see you all in August!

Obviously CC is not the most representative sample, but I’m surprised to see that there were more acceptances here than waitlists. I know that very very few people manage to get off the waitlist, but does anyone have any idea how many are waitlisted to begin with?

@CardinalZenn thanks!

what is your current school?
