Thank you for sharing this.
It looks like the FA checklist is disabled right now.
Yeah same on mine, what does it mean?
Same here
It probably means that theyâre finalizing decisions
so nerve-wracking argh
Thanks for sharing your experiences esp for first timers through this process.
Btw did u get an email from FA, I had a missing document that required student ID and I didnât get one.
i emailed them asking about it and they gave me one so i think either they were going to and i beat them to it or they just give them out randomly i honestly have no idea
realistically probs not indicative of an admissions decision
I found someone on reddit who said this:
I recently reached out to the financial aid office and was made aware that approximately 300 applicants were sent additional financial aid information requests as a part of a Yale pilot program to increase the amount of aid documents received prior to the holiday season. Unfortunately, it does not look like their pilot was very successful. Yaleâs financial aid office does not want to process your aid documents during the holidays. It is the holidays. If you did not receive such an email that is not indicative of anything, and if you did, itâs still not indicative of anything.
I find it odd/interesting that only the Financial Aid checklist is disabled now (for EA applicants) but not the Applicant Checklist too. One would think both would be disabled. I wonder if they are going to do that thing that people from a couple of years ago saw, where there was a âMid Yearâ report item added to the checklist within an hour of decision time. It seemed all of those people were either deferred or accepted (I could not find one that was rejected), and those who didnât have the added item were rejected (I could not find one that was deferred or accepted). That one item seemed more predictive than interview vs. no interview. It kind of makes sense to have that item added if the school planned to keep tabs on them. Could also be just another portal astrology. Last yearâs EA applicants on CC didnât mention it at all, so maybe admissions wised up to it and changed it last year so people like myself wouldnât be obsessed with these small details (but also why I think itâs strange that they didnât disable application checklist too). LOL
Since the FA office and the admissions office are separate, it is just indicative that the FA office is finalizing their work on their end.
Also, it makes sense why those who have mid-year reports would be deferred or accepted, as the office would use to that to determine their acceptance in RD or just check up on their academic status.
Still scared for decisions on Thursday.
Iâve blocked myself from accessing the portal on either my phone or laptop until 5pm Thursday.
@Beachmom23 Itâs so nice of you to comment on this thread to calm the nerves of many. Thank you. Best wishes to you and your remarkable children.
@Capecoder - well thank you. I posted to try to distract most of you during this interminable wait. 48 hours never felt so long, right? Going through it 3 times was a bit tough so I feel for all you students and parents. Hopefully, you were distracted for a few minutes.
Iâm rooting for ALL of you! Cheers to being happy at college!
Thank you so much! It has definitely been stressful thinking about the decisions, but your thoughtful comment really helped give a new perspective to all of this!
What are you guys planning to major in?
